Lighting System Setup


In this class we will explore the basic fundamentals of how to set up communication in a lighting system.  We will cover topics such as DMX, Addressing, Cabling and Fixture Profiles.  This will be a time to better understand the foundations principles that will help keep the communication flowing without fail. 

 

Lighting Design


Discovery of lighting design elements required for proper fixture locations as well as fundamentals to maximum usage of fixtures.  Topics such as: Key Lighting, Front Wash, Back Lighting, Scenic Lighting and Effect Lighting are some of the high points in this class. 

 

Special Guest- Lighting Designer


Tips/tricks will be presented by Professional Lighting Designer that will help the creative process on new and exciting ways to light in the Worship Environment.

Automated Lighting


This class is designed to introduce the various automate options to consider.  If you are new to automated lighting and/or are already deep in the process this is a great class to consider as this will assist you in your purchasing process to ensure that you are selecting the best automated units for your needs.

 

Automated Lighting Maintenance


Overview of the basic general maintenance procedures as well as trouble shooting techniques that will not only help ensure a long healthy life for your Automated Lighting fixtures, but will keep your weekend flowing smooth.  A better understanding of how and why Automated fixtures function from the inside perspective.

PC Based Lighting Control I


Understanding the basics setup procedures of a PC based lighting controller.  We will walk the steps of soft patching, general views and the basics of how PC controllers function. 


(Attendees are required to provide their own Windows based computer/laptop for this class.  An additional external monitor will also aid in this class and is recommended for each attend to provide as well, as these will not be available on site)

 

PC Based Lighting Control II


This class is a continuation of “PC Based Lighting Control I” as we will explore the more useful functions found in most PC based lighting controllers such as: Pre Set Focus, Sub Masters, Building Sequences, Cue Creation and Cue Execution.


(Attendees are required to provide their own Windows based computer/laptop for this class.  An additional external monitor will also aid in this class and is recommended for each attend to provide as well, as these will not be available on site)

PC Based Lighting Control Worship


This is a workshop that is designed for each attendee to work at their own pace to put into action the skills learned in PCBLC classes I and II.  Each attendee will have a Virtual Stage (Offline Visualizer~ Why a second monitor is suggested to bring) to begin creating and executing cues as if in a real world setting.  “Dress Rehearsal” you could say.  During this time there will also have available, for those attendees interested, to work the skills learned on the main worship lighting stage in real-time.

Media Shout for Lighting


This class is designed to assist lighting staff to understand the marriage between the lighting and media elements in the worship environment.  Media Shout will not only provide fundamental instruction on how media is created and executed, but how lighting and media need to work as one to be successful in the presentations both departments provide.

Lighting Review


This is a time to reflect on all the areas of Lighting we have discussed during our time together and to address specific questions that need clarification or expanded upon.  An open forum will also allow for attendees to ask individual questions that they would like addressed, specific to their current situation.  This class is a time to ensure that each attendee leaves the event with clear understanding and direction that can be applied immediately.
